AFK Heroes

Tokenomics

Updated

$AFKHERO is the game's token: it is what your hero is paid from the shared reward pool, what you spend in the Store, and what you can withdraw to your own wallet. Gold is a separate in-game coin that play creates. This section covers the token, how the shared reward pool works, where your spending goes, and how prices follow the market.

The shared reward pool

Almost everything your hero is paid comes live out of one shared reward pool — a common pot of $AFKHERO that every fighting hero draws from at the same time. Each day a fixed fraction of the pool is released and split by earning weight across the heroes that have been active in the last 8 hours (see How Earning Works).

Because the release is a fraction of the pool, the pool's size directly sets the payout rate: a fuller pool pays more per second, a thinner one pays less. The pool is not a one-way faucet — it is topped back up continuously by its share of what players spend (below), plus funding the team adds for seasons and events.

The live pool balance and the totals are shown in game on the Economy and Earnings panels. They move every minute, so this page does not print a snapshot that would be stale by the time you read it.

Where your spending goes

Spent $AFKHERO is not destroyed. On the spends listed below, every $AFKHERO is split three ways:

ShareDestinationWhat it does
40%Reward poolFlows straight back into the shared pool that pays players.
40%ReserveSet aside for other reward pools and to fund the next season.
20%TreasuryPays for running the game and for events.

So for every 1,000 $AFKHERO spent: 400 returns to the reward pool, 400 is set aside for other reward pools and the next season, and 200 goes to the treasury. Eighty percent of what you spend stays with players: half returns to the reward pool now, and half funds the other reward pools and the next season.

This split applies to:

  • Store purchases: boosts, Revive, Boss Keys, Boss Rush Tickets, Bag Pages, Protection Talismans, Class Change, Cosmetic Forge skins, the chest unlocks and the Elemental Remove Stone
  • Item upgrades and rerolls
  • Crafting and seal crafting
  • Gacha pulls
  • Elemental stone fusion

These go entirely to the treasury instead:

  • Marketplace sale fees, listing fees, auction fees and featured placements
  • Withdrawal fees
  • Name tag and profile frame purchases
  • Guild creation, donations and upgrades
  • Packs paid from your in-game balance
  • Server Goal contributions in $AFKHERO
  • Staking queue bids

Gold swap fees are split between the treasury and the swap pool's own reserves.

USD-pegged dynamic pricing

Store items are priced against an intended dollar value rather than a fixed token amount. The peg uses a fixed reference market cap of $250,000 — an anchor constant, not a claim about what the token is worth today. When the live market cap sits below the reference, items cost more $AFKHERO; when it sits above, they cost less, so the dollar cost of an item stays roughly stable either way.

In these Docs a pegged price is written as its dollar value, for example $5 worth of $AFKHERO. The Store shows the exact number of tokens at the live price.

Read the anchor correctly. The reference market cap is a pricing constant baked into the peg formula. The token's real price is whatever the market says right now, and every balance, prize and reward you hold is worth the live price — not the reference. The Store shows each price in $AFKHERO together with its dollar value at the live price, so check it before sizing a purchase.

Prices are always rounded to a whole $AFKHERO and never drop below 1 $AFKHERO, no matter how favourable the multiplier gets.

Two things are deliberately not tied to the reference market cap: gold prices (potions, upgrade gold costs) are fixed numbers, and hero packs are priced in SOL. Paying for a pack from your $AFKHERO balance costs the SOL price less 10%, converted at the live token price when you buy.
