Elemental Stones
Elemental Stones give a weapon an element and make that element hit harder as the stone's tier rises. Beat bosses to find stones, fuse them into higher tiers, set one on your weapon, and trade them with other players.
The stones
- Three elements: Ice, Fire and Lightning. Fire burns the enemy, Ice slows its attacks, and Lightning can stun it. The effect is the same at every tier — higher tiers add damage only.
- Five tiers for each element, Tier I to Tier V. Stones stack in your bag like other materials. If your bag is full, new stones wait in your mailbox.
- A weapon holds one element at a time, and only weapons can take a stone.
Getting stones
Every boss you defeat with a Boss Key, and every stage boss of a Boss Rush, rolls for stones — in every zone and in Nightmare. Each tier rolls on its own for each boss, and the element of each stone is random:
| Tier | Chance per boss |
|---|---|
| Tier I | 100% (every boss) |
| Tier II | 12% |
| Tier III | 1.2% |
| Tier IV | 0.12% |
| Tier V | 0.012% |
Luck and Drop Boosts do not change these chances. The rates can be tuned over time.
New weapons of Epic and above can also drop with an element already on them (a 2% chance). That element comes with a stone tier too — most are Tier I.
Fusion
Open the Item Enhancement window and use the Fusion tab. Five stones of one element and tier fuse into one stone of the next tier, in the same element. Tier V is the top, so it cannot be fused further. Use the How many control to fuse several times in one go.
Each fusion costs a fee, paid in $AFKHERO. The screen shows the price before you confirm.
| Fusing into | Fee per fusion ($AFKHERO, dollar value) |
|---|---|
| Tier II | $0.0625 |
| Tier III | $0.31 |
| Tier IV | $1.56 |
| Tier V | $7.81 |
These are dollar values: you pay that much in $AFKHERO at the live price, and the Fusion screen shows the exact amount.
Setting a stone on a weapon
- Open the weapon in the Item Enhancement window. On the Upgrade tab, pick a stone in the stone slot and press Apply.
- It always works. It uses up one stone, and the weapon's upgrade level does not change.
- Any weapon can take a stone — Angel and God weapons too, whether it is in your bag or equipped.
- The weapon takes the element and the tier, and its name gets a new prefix: Blazing (Fire), Frostbitten (Ice) or Storm-Charged (Lightning). Weapons show their element and tier on the icon, and the item details show how much damage the element adds per hit.
Removing or changing an element
A weapon that already has an element cannot take another stone until the element is cleared. Use an Elemental Remove Stone: it clears any element, including one the weapon dropped with, and is used up. The stone that was in the weapon is not returned.
The Remove Stone is sold in the Store ($3 worth of $AFKHERO; the Store shows the exact amount). It cannot be traded.
How hard it hits
An element adds a share of your Attack to every hit. Each tier above Tier I adds another 7% of Attack — 14% for a Mage:
| Stone tier | Knight, Rogue | Mage |
|---|---|---|
| Tier I | 35% | 175% |
| Tier II | 42% | 189% |
| Tier III | 49% | 203% |
| Tier IV | 56% | 217% |
| Tier V | 63% | 231% |
A Mage gets ×5 on the Tier I share and ×2 on each higher step. Stone damage counts in your Power and on the leaderboard. In PvP duels it counts through your Power, which sets your duel tier.
Trading and storing
- Stones trade on the Market. In the Materials tab, use the Elemental Stones category to list or buy them by quantity.
- Stones can be placed in your guild vault.
- The Elemental Remove Stone can be neither traded nor stored in the vault.
- A weapon keeps its element when it is sold, traded or stored, so a buyer gets the element with it.
Season reset
When a season resets, Tier V stones and Elemental Remove Stones are kept. Tier I to IV stones are cleared.
