Guilds

Updated

A guild is a permanent group of players who pool their progress into shared upgrades. Levelling a guild gives every member a standing bonus to earning, XP and gold. The bonuses apply automatically, with no action needed.

What a guild gives you

Guild bonuses apply to every member and scale with the guild's level:

At level 5 a guild doubles its members' XP and gold and adds a quarter to their $AFKHERO earning bonus.

Levelling a guild

Upgrading needs two things at once: Guild Points built by the members' play, and a payment of gold and $AFKHERO that members donate. Donations go straight toward the next level. Once the Guild Points, the gold and the $AFKHERO are all in, the guild levels up on its own.

51,850,0001,000,000,0005,000,000

A guild's level never goes down. Points are permanent once banked, and a level the guild has reached is never lost when members leave or are removed. Donations are not refunded.

Donations when a member leaves or is removed

  • You leave on your own: your donations stay with the guild.
  • You are removed while you have been playing: the part of your donations still waiting for the next level comes out of the guild's progress and becomes a one-time credit, applied automatically when you join (or found) another guild. Levels the guild has already reached are never touched. The credit covers normal donations only: an entry fee is never returned.
  • You are removed after not playing for 3 days or more, or by the guild's auto-kick: your donations stay with the guild.
  • Gear and materials you stored in the Guild Vault are mailed back to you whenever you are removed.

Guild Points

Guild Points, or GP, build up from what members actually do — kills weighted by zone and mode, boss kills, and mining: a mining hero earns the GP that fighting in its zone would have given, without the Nightmare bonus. GP also builds while you are away, up to the same 8-hour catch-up window as earning, and there is an hourly ceiling so a single member cannot spike the total.

GP is tracked two ways: lifetime GP, which never resets and drives the upgrade ladder, and season GP, which resets each season and drives the guild leaderboard.

Rejoining resets your season GP. If you leave a guild and come back, your personal season contribution starts again from zero. Lifetime GP already banked into the guild stays with the guild.

Weekly objective

Each guild week runs from Monday 00:00 UTC to the next Monday. The guild has a shared target, and every member has three quests that pay Guild Points when claimed.

QuestTargetReward
Clear the zones900,000 weighted kill merit6,000 GP
Hunt bosses1 boss6,000 GP
Back your guild1 donation to the guild, or 1 deposit into the Guild Vault3,000 GP

The guild-wide target scales with roster size — roughly 80,000 GP per member, with a floor of 150,000 so a very small guild still has something to aim at. When the guild reaches it, every member who has earned Guild Points this season can claim a Boss Key. Members who earned no Guild Points this season cannot. If a guild cannot accept donations (it is at the top level, or its requirements are already full), the donation quest is not offered.

Guild Vault

Guilds at level 4 and above unlock the Guild Vault: shared storage that members deposit into and request from. Members can deposit gear, materials and gold. Gear must be in your bag — equipped gear and soulbound gear cannot be stored — and $AFKHERO cannot be deposited.

Storage pagesUp to 4
Slots per page32
Page unlock500,000 $AFKHERO each
Default policyRequests blocked until officers open it
Request expiry24 hours

Taking something out needs officer approval, and a guild must keep at least two active officers for the request system to operate, so officers keep each other honest. The guild leader can take from the vault directly. Every withdrawal, the leader's included, appears in the activity feed.

The tithe

Guilds at level 4 and above also receive a 1% tithe into the Guild Vault from member spending on the big gold sinks: gear enhancement, gear crafting, seal crafting, forging, dust conversion and salvaging. It is added by the game on top of what you pay; it is not taken from you. An automatic safety check can pause the tithe, and while it is paused nothing is added.

Identity — tags and badges

Guilds carry a tag shown beside every member's name, in chat, on the leaderboard and in the arena, plus a badge image. The tag appears once the guild reaches level 3.

Guild names and tags are unique across the game and are checked for collisions on creation. Names and tags cannot currently be changed after creation, so choose carefully.

Joining, leaving and removal

  • Invites and applications both expire after 72 hours. Each player can have at most 10 pending applications at a time.
  • Leaving on your own puts you on a 48-hour cooldown before you can join another guild. This is what stops guild-hopping to collect weekly rewards.
  • If your guild leader has not played for 3 days, leaving costs nothing: there is no cooldown, your donations still waiting for the next level become a one-time credit for your next guild, and your gear in the Guild Vault comes back by mail. Your guild page shows when this applies. An entry fee is still not refunded.
  • Being removed — by the leader, an officer or the auto-kick — carries no cooldown: you can join elsewhere immediately.
  • Disbanding — the leader can disband the guild only once the Guild Vault is empty: items, materials, gold, $AFKHERO and open requests. Nothing is refunded: not the 250,000 $AFKHERO creation cost, donations or entry fees. Members leave with no penalty. The leader waits 48 hours before joining another guild, and the guild name and tag become free again.
  • Creating a guild is never blocked by the cooldown; only joining an existing one is.
  • The leader can hand the guild to another member with Transfer leadership to (leader only), and the old leader becomes an officer. A leader has to transfer leadership before leaving.

Entry fee

A guild leader can set an entry fee in $AFKHERO under Guilds > Settings, and 0 means free. Everyone who joins pays it: joining an open guild, being accepted after applying, or accepting an invite. You see the fee and confirm it before you join, and declining an invite costs nothing.

  • The fee goes first toward the guild's next level, as a normal donation. The rest goes to the Guild Vault, where the leader can withdraw it, and at level 5 all of it goes there. Below guild level 4 the vault is still locked, so the rest waits there until the guild reaches level 4.
  • It is never returned when you leave or are removed, even if you are removed while still playing, and joining again means paying again.
  • An application keeps the fee shown when you applied: if the leader raises it later you still pay that amount, and if the leader lowers it you pay the lower one. If you cannot pay it when you are accepted, the application stays pending.
  • If the leader changes the fee while you are joining, nothing is charged and you see the new amount.

Auto-kick for inactive members

The guild leader can turn on auto-kick under Guilds > Settings and pick 3, 7 or 14 days. Every hour, any member who has not played for that long is removed automatically. The leader is never removed, and a member who joined less than that many days ago is never removed either. Officers are included. As described above, the donations of a member removed this way stay with the guild.

Members list

The Members tab shows each member's gold, $AFKHERO and vault contributions for Today, This week or All time, who has finished this week's donation quest, and when each member last played (Last seen). Click a teammate's name to open their profile card.

Guild leaderboard

Guilds are ranked each season on their season Guild Points, boosted by up to +25% for the leaderboard points of their members, by +3% for each guild level above 1 (up to +12%), and by up to +50% for the share of members who earned Guild Points this season. The biggest boost cannot be bought: it comes from members actually playing, so a small active guild can beat a large inactive one. The parts that can be bought are capped, so a guild cannot simply buy first place.

The guild board starts again each season. Guild levels and lifetime Guild Points do not.

Discord integration

A guild can be linked to Discord so that in-game membership drives Discord roles automatically — join the guild and the role appears, leave and it is removed. Linking requires your Discord account to be connected to your hero. A level 5 guild can ask the team to set up a private channel for its members.
