Seasons & Leaderboard
A season is a fixed stretch of play with its own leaderboards and a fresh start for everyone. You rank by playing normally: levelling, fighting in deeper zones and defeating bosses all count, and the same play moves you up several boards at once. The current season's end date is shown in the game.
The boards
The Leaderboard screen has a main board and three specialist boards that carry prizes. You can rank on more than one at the same time, and placing on several is paid on each.
| Board | Ranks paid | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Season | Top 50 | The blended Season Score below |
| Power | Top 20 | Raw combat Power |
| Bosses | Top 20 | Boss kills — every boss kill counts the same here |
| Spenders | Top 20 | $AFKHERO spent in the game this season |
The Season board has the largest prize pool, and Power, Bosses and Spenders each have a pool of the same smaller size. The pools and the split per rank are shown on the Leaderboard screen.
The screen also has Referrals (the Recruitment War), Stakers, Mining and PvP tabs. These are rankings. Mining ranks the gold, scrap and fragments mined this season in each zone, and it has no prize.
Season Score
Your Season board position comes from one score. A base is built from your level, your kills, your mining and your bosses, and two boosts multiply it.
| What counts | How much |
|---|---|
| Zone grind | Every kill adds points, weighted by the zone and mode it happened in. Deep zones and Nightmare are worth far more than shallow ones. |
| Mining | While your hero mines, half of the zone grind that fighting in its zone would have given, without the Nightmare bonus. |
| Bosses | Boss kills add points weighted by difficulty — a deeper zone, Nightmare or a harder encounter all count for more. A late Boss Rush stage is worth substantially more than a single keyed boss. |
| Hero level | A steady amount for every level. |
| Power | Boosts the whole score, by up to about five times over. |
| $AFKHERO earned | A smaller boost on top, up to +30%, based on the $AFKHERO you have earned this season (the Earned column of the board). |
Both boosts apply to the whole base, so a larger base gains more from them.
Fairness
- Ranking is server-side and authoritative. Your score is recomputed from your real level, kills, mining, bosses, Power and earnings — there is no way to set your own rank.
- Every class scores the same points for the same play.
- A Class Change freezes your leaderboard standing for 24 hours, so a late switch cannot be used to game the final snapshot.
Prizes and payment
When a season closes, the boards freeze and the final standings are saved. A frozen board is permanent — it is the record of that season. Prizes are paid in $AFKHERO from those saved standings, but nothing is paid automatically: the team reviews each board and approves it before any reward is sent. Banned or flagged accounts are not paid. Your reward message appears once your reward has actually been paid, not when the season ends.
When the season ends
When a season ends, all boards freeze at that moment. The next season opens after a reset. The team announces its date in advance, and the game is closed for maintenance while the reset runs.
The reset gives everyone a fresh start. Your hero returns to level 1 in the first zone, Nightmare turns off, and your kills and boss kills start again from zero. Leaderboards and each guild's season Guild Points start again too, and at the Season 4 reset the online PvP ratings also went back to 1,200 with records cleared. Everything else follows these lists, which are the Season 4 reset's (15 October 2026). The rules for the next reset are announced before it.
What stays
- Your gold, $AFKHERO and SOL balances
- The gear you have equipped — it moves to your bag, and a level 1 hero cannot wear it until it levels up
- Gear sealed for that reset with a Carry-Over Seal (see Carrying gear over, below)
- Skins and pets (with their levels) and name tags
- Bag Pages, Protection Talismans and your Auto-Pot settings
- Grade 6 Star Dust, Moon Dust and Sun Dust, Angel Stone, Angel Dust, Universe Dust and Eye of God
- Tier V Ice Stone, Fire Stone and Lightning Stone, and Elemental Remove Stones
- Pickaxes and unopened Pickaxe Crates
- Your card binder, your extra card copies and the binder's rewards
- Your Ancient Keys
- Your guild membership, your guild's level, its lifetime Guild Points and its vault gold
- Your Founder or Vanguard numbered ID
What is removed
- All gear that is not equipped or sealed for this reset, whether it is in your bag, your mailbox or the guild vault
- Every other crafting material, including scrap, gear fragments, lower-grade dust, blueprints, and Elemental Stones below tier V. Materials in the guild vault follow the same lists.
- Potions, XP and drop boosts (items and running timers), Boss Keys and Premium Dungeon Tickets
- Unopened chests, Ancient chests included, and Ancient Key Fragments
- Active marketplace listings: the items come back to you first and then follow these same lists. Live auctions are cancelled and every bid is refunded.
- Anything still in your mining cart, and royalties you have not collected. Every mining seat ends too. Mined-out hexes refill to full, and only the centre and the first ring open again; outer hexes close until someone funds them. A funded hex that still has ore is kept as it is.
- Titan Dust and Heart of Titan: both reset every season, and a new season can drop 2,000 and 200 again
Carrying gear over
Before the Season 4 reset, gear you were not wearing could be carried through it with a Carry-Over Seal from your bag, up to 8 pieces, paid in $AFKHERO. Gear carried into Season 4 can go into a guild vault 7 days after Season 4 opened. Whether the next reset offers Carry-Over Seals is announced before that reset.
Numbered IDs
Each season's top pack carries a numbered ID that shows beside your name on the leaderboards, in chat, in the arena and on your profile: Founder #N (Season 2), Vanguard #N (Season 3) and Paragon #N (Season 4). If you hold more than one, the newest shows. These numbers are permanent and are never re-issued.
Prize pools, rank splits and the rules on this page describe the current season. They are set per season and are always shown in the game.
